The initial shock of being a new environment has worn off, and the ants have settled down. There are signs of beginnings of tunnels, as there are nibble marks all over the surface. At the moment, all of the ants are hanging out are the far right side surface with little movement. They could be sleeping. Although I'm not sure if ants sleep or not. I also don't see any ant poop. I'm going to assume that ants don't poop unless I find reason to think other wise. They have also stopped playing with their butts as much.
There are now four established characters that live in the farm. Carlos the Leader, Tom the Daredevil, Ebenezer the Runt, and Martha the Whore. My roommates and I often voiceover scenes between these characters as we watch the ants.

Day 1
The migration from travel tube to farm was truly treacherous. Many ants dashed for freedom during the golden window of opportunity, and three managed to escape. I had no choice but to end them. As of right now, there are 12 healthy, peppy ants in the ant farm. They haven't started digging yet, they are just playing with their butts and rolling around. I hope they begin building tunnels soon, and to accelerate the process, I've poked a hole in their gooey home. I've named one Carlos. Carlos is feisty.
The beginning of a long journey.
